About the winery
Our origins go back to 1954, when Javier Cantera Cañas built the first winery, able to make twenty thousand litres of wine, in Azofra, a municipality in Rioja Alta. His son, Javier Cantera Corcuera, continued the family work and in 2000 moved part of the machinery to a building in Huércanos, 10 km from Azofra, in the Yalde river basin, which had more space and sufficient infrastructure to make quality wines and age them in barrels, currently exactly 524 barrels, creating the Bodegas Jer brand.
