About the winery
The Santa María Egipcíaca-Bodegas la Corte cooperative, founded on 22 November 1977 by 31 growers, is today a modern winery made up of more than 250 members who farm 2,500 hectares of vineyard around Corte de Peleas. The vines adorn a landscape of reddish soils and gentle slopes typical of the Tierra de Barros area of Extremadura in south-west Spain, perfectly integrated into a highly protected environment, the SPA and the Albuera lagoon complex, part of the Natura 2000 network.
