Bodegas las Tirajanas

◍ Las Palmas

About the winery

Bodega Las Tirajanas is in Tunte, the main town of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, within the Gran Canaria D.O. It was founded in the 1990s by growers from the municipality's midlands who decided to pool their harvests, and today it operates as a cooperative of 17 families with vineyards spread across the south, centre and north of the island, which is why its harvest runs from July to October. It works with Listán, Castellana, Vijariego, Malvasía and Moscatel, among others, and makes a dry white, dry, semi-sweet and barrel-fermented Malvasías, a rosé, young, oaked, barrel and crianza reds, a single-varietal Verijadiego and a sweet wine. It is open to the public and offers guided visits by reservation, with a tasting accompanied by local products.
