About the winery
It was in 1994 that Santiago López fulfilled his dream of creating his own winery. It all began much earlier, around the 1930s, when his father, also called Santiago, started a new family project in Ribera del Duero on the same spot where the winery stands today. The decisive push into viticulture came in the 1980s, coinciding with the beginnings of the Ribera del Duero Denominación de Origen. After some years as a grower, the long-awaited moment came to make his own wine, creating Bodegas López Cristóbal.
