About the winery
The history of Bodegas Luis Gurpegui Muga goes back to the early years of the twentieth century, when Primitivo Gurpegui Muro, the first generation of this family, created his first winery in San Adrián (Navarra). After his death, these facilities were developed by his son, Luis Gurpegui Muga. It was he who, with great effort and sacrifice, achieved the great expansion of his wines in the D.O.Ca. Rioja. An expansion that was not limited to the region of the seven valleys, but also reached other Denominaciones de Origen such as Navarra and Ribera del Guadiana.
