Bodegas Martínez Lacuesta was born in 1895 in Haro, with capital exclusively from Haro, founded by Félix Martínez Lacuesta (Haro, 1873-1922). A winemaker, lawyer, politician and publicist, he was the first president of the National Association of Viticulturists and Wine Industries, as well as of the Rioja Wine Syndicate, and one of the forerunners of the Regulatory Council of the D.O. Rioja, representing the winemakers.
