About the winery
Bodegas Montsalla is located between Navarrete and Fuenmayor, the winegrowing area par excellence of La Rioja. It is a family business with a great winemaking tradition in La Rioja, descendants of Félix Azpilicueta Martínez and co-founders of Bodegas AGE. Their work has continued over the years, introducing modern winemaking and ageing systems. Bodegas Montsalla began its journey as a new entity in 2005, though without ever ceasing to make wine in its old cellars and underground galleries in the village of Navarrete, which can now be visited although they are no longer in use.
