Bodegas Olarra

◍ La Rioja

About the winery

It is impossible to conceive of Bodegas Olarra without its architecture. The building, designed by Juan Antonio Ridruejo in 1973, was conceived by and for wine. It is in itself a treatise on architecture applied to the winemaking process, to which it is perfectly suited. Its most emblematic feature, the roof crowning the barrel hall, formed by 111 hexagonal domes, is laid out this way to avoid sudden changes in temperature. And we have sought to bring to our wines the innovative, pioneering spirit that our central building represents.
