Bodegas Pascual Fernández makes its Siete Peldaños wines in Fermoselle, in the Arribes del Duero Natural Park and within the D.O. Arribes, where the Duero forms the border with Portugal. It is the family project of José Luis Pascual and Sonia Fernández, who have recovered the small plots where Sonia's grandparents once made wine, with Patricia Santos as winemaker. They work century-old vines on the granite slopes of the Duero, rescuing vineyards on terraces and stone walls, and focus on native varieties such as Bruñal, Juan García, Puesta en Cruz, Doña Blanca and Malvasía, as well as Garnacha, Mencía and Tempranillo. Their wine tourism experiences take in the century-old cellars carved into the granite and centre on tasting their wines.
