About the winery
Bodegas Pintia is the Tempos Vega Sicilia group's winery in the Toro D.O., located on the banks of the Duero in San Román de Hornija, in the Valladolid part of the appellation. Its vineyards are spread across San Román de Hornija, Pedrosa del Rey, Toro and Morales de Toro, at around 700 metres above sea level on poor, sandy soils with plenty of pebbles. It works exclusively with Tinta de Toro and makes a single wine, Pintia, with hand harvesting in small crates, double grape sorting, fermentation in oak vats and barrel ageing, joined by amphorae in recent vintages. It is the most independent member of the Vega Sicilia family.
