About the winery
Bodegas Ruiz Alfaya is a family winery in Castilseco, in Rioja Alta, that grows its own vineyards at the foot of the Montes Obarenes. The craft has passed from great-grandparents to grandparents and on to parents, and the current generation wants to keep improving this legacy with more sustainable techniques in the vineyard and cellar. Under the Rual Wines brand it makes white, red and rosé D.O.Ca. Rioja wines from its own grapes. It offers a walk through the vineyards that includes the Romanesque church of San Julián in Castilseco and ends with a tasting of five wines with local cured meats, cheeses and a stuffed pepper, as well as a quad route from Haro with a stop in the vineyard, a visit to the church and a final tasting at the winery.
