About the winery
Bodegas Solana de Ramírez Ruiz is a family business rooted in Ábalos, devoted for several generations to growing vines and making and ageing its wines. That is why we would like to bring you closer to the past, so that you can learn about the history of our village, our ancestors, surnames and the origin of our family and business. Going back in the history of our village, there are accounts of King Sancho Ramírez, king of Aragon and Navarre (1063–1094), and the ties he had with the town of San Félix de Ábalos, at that time part of the Sonsierra of Navarre (today La Rioja).
