Bodegas Valreinas

◍ Burgos

About the winery

Valreinas is a small family winery in Nava de Roa, in the Burgos part of the D.O. Ribera del Duero, between Aranda de Duero and Peñafiel. It is now in its third generation, with roots going back to ancestors who were wineskin makers and innkeepers. It farms 43 hectares close to the winery, known as the Cuarenta Majuelos, some over 80 years old, almost all Tempranillo with a little Albillo Mayor, and part of the winemaking takes place in an underground cellar 12 metres deep. Its wines are Piripintado, Valreinas Joven, Roble, Crianza and Reserva. It offers tailor-made wine tourism, with the underground cellars as the highlight, where you can enjoy a glass or fill a porrón, and the old Lagar Cirujanos wine press.
