Bodegas Vertijana
About the winery
Vertijana is a small family winery in Polícar, in the province of Granada, set on the high plateau of the Alhama river valley, next to the Sierra Nevada Natural Park and at about 1,200 metres above sea level. It is covered by the D.O.P. Granada and combines tradition with present-day viticulture techniques in compact facilities, with a grape reception area, a fermentation room and space for ageing both in barrel and in bottle. It farms 8 hectares of certified organic vineyards planted with Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot and Chardonnay, which yield mountain wines shaped by the altitude and the climate of the sierra.
