Bodegas Vidal Soblechero, known for its Viña Clavidor label, is a family winery in La Seca (Valladolid), within the D.O. Rueda. The Vidal family has lived in the village for fifteen generations; the vines were planted by Claudio Vidal Obregón and the project is now carried on by his children Vidal and Alicia. They farm around 50 hectares, mostly bush vines, on clay, limestone and sandy soils, with Verdejo, Viura, Palomino, Sauvignon Blanc and Tempranillo, and together with ITACYL they are recovering Prieto Picudo Blanco. Part of the vineyard is ploughed with horses and no chemical products are used. They make D.O. Rueda whites such as Clavidor, single-vineyard wines under the name Pagos de Villavendimia and reds under Vino de la Tierra de Castilla y León. In 2006 they made Viña Clavidor, presented as the first Spanish ice wine with D.O. Rueda.
