About the winery
It is hard to pinpoint when the family began growing vines, but as early as 1752 they are recorded as winegrowers in Valtuille, making wine from some plots whose grapes are still part of the winery's wines. More recent is the creation of Castro Ventosa as the institutional name adopted by the current generation, succeeding the previous Hnos. de Rosaura López Fuente, named after their grandmother, which reflected a change of style without changing its philosophy.
