About the winery
Bodegas Montegaredo is located in Boada de Roa (Burgos), in the very heart of the Ribera del Duero, 5 kilometres from the Regulatory Council. Within the Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin there are privileged and historic areas for vine growing, and one of them is precisely the area around Boada de Roa. As early as the 10th century, the monks of the Monastery of Boada appreciated the area's special microclimate and contributed their knowledge of vine growing. All this had already been glimpsed by our previous generations, who for centuries made wine in the old underground cellars.
