About the winery
Cantariña Vinos de Familia is the project of the Ysart Álvarez de Toledo siblings in Villafranca del Bierzo, within the D.O. Bierzo. It was born to revive an activity the family had abandoned decades earlier, of which two vineyards remained, Los Pinos and Valdeobispo. They started in 2015 with a small single-varietal Garnacha Tintorera, followed with a Mencía and gradually restored their sites, later adding El Cotelo and some slate vineyards in A Freita, in Corullón. Their numbered range runs from Cantariña 1 La Tintorera to Cantariña 8 El Godello de Consuelo, alongside La Cabeza de Perro. Visits take place outdoors at the Viña de los Pinos, with a talk on traditional viticulture and a tasting in its cabin.
