About the winery
Cal Bessó is an organic winery in Els Guiamets, in the Montsant D.O., founded in 2015 by friends Raimon Castellví and Jaume Vallès, who brought the Castellví family house back to life to make wine. Raimon and his wife, Carmen, had already been running Celler del Encastell in Porrera, in the Priorat, since 1999. The grapes come only from Jaume's organic vineyards, La Presa and Les Rotes, and production is around twenty thousand bottles. The reds Lo Cirerer and La Prunera pay tribute to the cherry and plum trees tended by grandfather Josep, and the whites Coret and Elvira, made from white Grenache with time in barrel, honour the family. You can visit the winery and vineyards with Jaume and taste their wines.
