Celler la Placeta
About the winery
Celler La Placeta is the project of Mercè and Quim, who since 2014 have been making wine in their village, Els Guiamets, in the south of the Montsant D.O. They farm the family vineyard of Molí de la Bleda organically, on panal soils, with local varieties and a small output of about six thousand bottles a year. They specialise in whites to revive the tradition of Els Guiamets as a white-wine village, and they also make a rosé, the reds Càdec and Molí de la Bleda and, in tiny quantities, a sweet wine and a rancio. In the old flour mill they have restored within the vineyard they hold tastings and activities, such as the Càdec barrel tasting or harvest breakfasts.
