About the winery

Celler Laurona is in Falset, in the Montsant D.O., and was founded by René Barbier Senior in 1999 with a clear idea: good wine needs time. Since 2018 it has been run by Fiona Fischer, his last student, who worked alongside him from 2014. Its vines, Grenache and Carignan planted in 1964 or earlier, are spread across several villages, altitudes and soils of slate, clay-limestone and granite, and are harvested by hand. The winery keeps its wines until they are ready and offers vintages from 2007 to 2022, with labels such as Pythagora, Mític, Nautilea, Plini, Supernova, Cronos and L'Irrésistible. By appointment you can walk through the old vines with Fiona, visit the winery and taste several vintages.
