Don Balbino

◍ Álava

About the winery

Since the end of the 18th century, the Don Balbino family has owned a select 40-hectare vineyard in the municipalities of Lapuebla de Labarca and Laguardia, in the very heart of the D.O. Rioja. Originally the winery made wine by carbonic maceration and sold crianzas, reservas and gran reservas. Today the fourth generation is taking over with a new project, preserving the tradition of carbonic maceration for young wine and bringing new concepts such as barrel-fermented white wine and single-estate wines.
