About the winery

Faustino Rivero Ulecia is a family winery in Arnedo, in La Rioja Baja, within the D.O.Ca. Rioja, and the origin of the Marqués del Atrio Group. Its story begins in 1899, when Olegario Rivero made wine in a small cave in the town to sell to his neighbours. Later generations moved from bulk wine to bottling, first under the Chitón brand and then with Rioja wines under the Faustino Rivero Ulecia name, and in 1980 they built a larger winery on the outskirts of Arnedo designed for ageing. Today the family also makes wine in Navarra, Rías Baixas, Bierzo and Utiel-Requena, and in Rioja it produces wines such as its Crianza and Reserva. In Arnedo it offers guided visits with tastings of white Riojas, premium Riojas or wines from several appellations.
