Finca Villacreces lies in Quintanilla de Onésimo (Valladolid), in the so-called Golden Mile of the D.O. Ribera del Duero, among vineyards, the Duero river and a forest of two-hundred-year-old pines. Its origins go back to the 14th century, when the friar Pedro de Villacreces settled there with other clergy and tended a small vineyard. In 2004 it was acquired by Gonzalo and Lalo Antón, already established in Rioja and Toro, who restored the vineyard and winery and opened it to the public in 2007. Most of the vineyard is farmed organically. They make Pruno, Finca Villacreces, which blends Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, Specimen, Nebro and Creta. The visit covers the winemaking process and ends with a tasting of three of their wines and an aperitif of local produce; they also organise picnics among the vines.
