About the winery
Finca Vistahermosa lies in Ocón, in the Sierras de Rioja Oriental, at the foot of the Sierra de la Hez and about 35 kilometres from Logroño, within the D.O.Ca Rioja. Clara Herrero's father bought the estate in 2003 and for years sold its grapes to other Rioja wineries, until the family moved from Madrid to build a small winery of their own. Today it is managed by Clara Herrero, a forestry engineer, as a living landscape of some 400 hectares where vines share space with Mediterranean scrubland and cereal crops, using cover crops and no irrigation. They kept old garnacha vines between 560 and 760 metres, which give the Conversa red and white and Cuesta de la Estrella. They organise vineyard and winery visits with tastings, seasonal menus and harvest experiences.
