About the winery
Finca Volvoreta is in Sanzoles, in the highest part of the Toro D.O., with hillside vineyards at around 750 metres on sandy soils. There María Alfonso farms the vines organically and biodynamically, with hand harvesting and spontaneous fermentations with native yeasts. She works only with Tinta de Toro. Her flagship wine is Volvoreta, a fresh, floral red aged in clay jars and barrels, and in the best vintages she makes L'Amphore, fermented and aged in clay jars. She also produces an extra virgin olive oil. The estate offers experiences such as a tasting menu with Volvoreta or an outing among olive trees and wineries, which can be booked on its website.
