The year 1707 saw a crucial battle for the Spanish monarchy. On the lands of Almansa the War of the Spanish Succession came to an end, with Philip V winning the decisive victory that would lead to his coronation on the throne of Spain. The slopes of the Mugrón massif and the present-day lands of Hacienda El Espino witnessed the episode that is commemorated with the date 1707 on every wine enjoyed.
