About the winery

Heredad de Baroja is a winery in Elvillar de Álava, in Rioja Alavesa and within the D.O.Ca. Rioja, founded in 1964 and now linked to Bodegas Lar de Paula. Its vineyards lie at around 600 metres above sea level, sheltered by the Sierra de Cantabria, and it adds grapes from growers in Lapuebla, Laguardia, Elvillar, Lanciego and Kripan. The range covers the classic styles of the area: a Garnacha rosé, a Viura white, a Tempranillo red made by carbonic maceration, as is traditional in Rioja Alavesa, and Tempranillo crianza, reserva and gran reserva from old vines, aged in French and American oak barrels.
