About the winery

La Divisa is a winery in Torvizcón, in the Sierra de la Contraviesa, in the heart of the Alpujarra of Granada, within the D.O.P. Granada and its Contraviesa-Alpujarra subzone. Its story began in 2017 with a search for old vines: the first plot, on the hill that gives the winery its name, has bush vines nearly a century old and views of Mulhacén, Veleta and the Mediterranean. It was launched in 2019 and in 2022 opened a new building designed also for wine tourism and training. It farms slate plots streaked with quartz, with organic, minimal-intervention winemaking, and is reviving the traditional vino costa. Its wide range includes Cuerda Corta, Cuerda Suelta, the Azhar series, Forastero and Macumba, as well as varietals such as Vermentino and Petit Verdot. The owner leads the visits and tastings.
