About the winery

LMT Wines is the project of Luis Moya Tortosa, a grower and craft winemaker who lives in Pamplona and works mainly in Navarra, as well as in Rioja. He started out as a bar owner who was too interested in wine to sell it, trained and tasted his way into making his first wine, Masusta, from a vineyard in Cárcar. With no family background in wine, he began as a nomadic winemaker, sourcing vineyards and renting space at friends' wineries, until he had his own winery a few minutes from home. He farms by hand, without herbicides or synthetic products, and makes wine with minimal intervention: plot wines, sparkling wines and styles from different villages, with Garnacha taking the lead in Navarra, a txakoli and clay-jar ageing.
