About the winery
M. Chapoutier España is the Ribera del Duero branch of the French house M. Chapoutier, from the Rhône Valley, and makes its wines under the name Dominio del Soto. The project began in 2005 in Sotillo de la Ribera (Burgos), at the heart of the D.O. Ribera del Duero, and Mathilde Chapoutier, daughter of Michel Chapoutier, played a leading role by encouraging the investment in this vineyard. The estate has around 16 hectares farmed organically, planted on old terraces at 850 to 900 metres above sea level. The main variety is Tempranillo, alongside some Albillo Mayor. Its wines include a Roble red, a Crianza, a Reserva and an Albillo Crianza, and the winery takes part in the Sotillo de la Ribera wine fair.
