About the winery

History of Mainegra. In 1982, given how hard it was to sell white grapes, the Suberviola brothers, from a family with a winegrowing tradition and with training in oenology, decided to start making their own cava. At that time there was not yet a designation of origin, only a register of sparkling wine producers, in which they enrolled. Founded by Antonio Suberviola, a winegrower and father of the current owners, Mainegra is a family business located in Mendavia, a town it enabled to join the Cava D.O. in 1991.
