Mansión Garrido is the project through which the Garrido family, documented in Fermoselle since the 16th century, has returned to winegrowing in this medieval village of the D.O. Arribes, in the Zamora part of the Arribes del Duero. It is led by Jorge Garrido, a US citizen who came back to his grandfather's homeland to carry on the family tradition. Its wine, Mansión Garrido Tinto Superior, is made from Juan García, the area's native variety, grown in a century-old vineyard on the terraces lining the Duero canyon, and is aged in French and American oak. The underground cellar, hand-carved into the granite centuries ago, hosts guided visits and private tastings.
