Mas Xarot
About the winery
Mas Xarot is a cava label belonging to the Centellas family in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, within the D.O. Cava. Its story begins with Victor Centellas, who started working as a cellar hand at a local cava house aged just 14 and in 1982 built a small cellar in the basement of his new home to make his own handcrafted batches. In 2002 production moved to the Monastell cellars, a 1941 winery in the town centre with room for long ageing, and since 2020 the new generation has taken it to international markets. They work with Xarel·lo, Macabeo and Parellada with second fermentation in bottle; the Gran Reservas spend at least five years on their lees and are disgorged by hand. The collection includes Brut, Brut Nature, Enoteca, Pinot Noir and Barcelona.
