About the winery
Celestino Cortina Cuadra, founder of Sidra Cortina, stood out during his life as an enterprising and enthusiastic man. Having lost his father at the age of 7, from a very young age he helped his mother and grandparents with the work of the modest family cider house («el Llagar de la Nonzalera»). Gathering apples, fetching water from the river to wash the barrels or cutting the pressed pulp were all everyday tasks for him from early childhood. Family tradition: married in 1950 to Palmira Noriega Torre (Tonel de Oro in Gijón 2009).
