Sidra Vallina is a family cider house (llagar) in Pion, a parish of the municipality of Villaviciosa, in the heart of the Asturian Cider Region. Its story begins with home-made cider: Víctor Vallina taught the craft to his nephew Benjamín Vallina, who over the years registered the brand and entered the trade, at first combining it with farming and livestock work. In the early days he sold around 18,000 litres, mostly door to door, driving his van through areas such as Bimenes and the mining valleys to bring the cider to cider bars and private customers. The business grew over time, and today Sidra Vallina is a well-known natural cider brand, still run by Benjamín with his family at Lugar Fonfría, surrounded by the apple orchards of Villaviciosa.
