About the winery
Tovar is a small family winery in Trigueros del Valle, in the Campiña del Pisuerga, within the D.O. Cigales. It calls itself a winery of wineries because it brings together five century-old underground cellars, large and small, which are part of the village's heritage. It is a project spanning several generations: the grandparents planted the vineyards, the parents carried on and today the children, Juan and María, are giving it fresh momentum. They grow diverse, century-old vineyards organically and with respect for the terroir, and make Tovar Rosado, Tovar Rosado en Barrica and Tinto Tovar, a crianza. The guided visit tours the underground cellars and their history and ends with a tasting of their wines with an appetiser; they also offer lunches in the wine bar set up in the first of the cellars.
