About the winery
Vall de Baldomar is the family project Hermenegildo Porta Trepat began in the early 1980s in Baldomar, near the Segre river and the Montsec range, within the D.O. Costers del Segre. He wanted to make his own wine and return to his roots: he bought an old barn with its threshing floor, planted the first experimental vineyard in 1981, built the winery in 1983 and in 1989 released his first labelled wine, a rosé. Today he runs the estate with his daughter Marta. All the vineyards are new plantings, in a small enclosed valley with its own microclimate. The Cristiari range, named after old local place names, includes a white, a rosé, Cristiari d'Alós and Criança, alongside Baldomà Selecció and the Petit Baldomà wines. Visits are by appointment.
