Vinos Pedra-Volta

◍ Zaragoza

About the winery

Vinos PedraVolta is a family project in Nonaspe, in the Bajo Aragón, making wines under the I.G.P. Bajo Aragón. It was launched in 2017 by siblings Andrés and María Mendoza, after the village's last remaining winery closed in 2015: María is a winemaker with experience in several appellations and countries, and Andrés looks after the vineyard and sales. The name comes from the family farmhouse, a 19th-century dry-stone building. They farm 3.64 hectares of their own on the banks of the Matarraña and Algars rivers, organically, with bush vines and hand harvesting. Their range consists of the young Pedra Volta Blanco, Rosado and Tinto, and Pedra Seca, an oak-aged crianza red.
