About the winery
Vinos Sanz presents itself as the oldest winery in the D.O. Rueda. Its story begins around 1870 in La Seca, when a family known as the Donatos bet on white wines from Verdejo, then an almost unknown grape. When the appellation was created in 1980, it built a new winery in Rueda (Valladolid). Its flagship vineyard is Finca La Colina, in La Seca, with some of the oldest Viura, Verdejo and Sauvignon Blanc vines in the area, on gravelly soils. It makes the Sanz range, with Sanz Clásico, Verdejo, Sauvignon Blanc and Ecológico, the Finca La Colina wines, Montesol and La Chalada, and also has wines in the D.O. Vinos de Madrid.
