The Denomination of Origin Ycoden Daute Isora takes its name from the two menceyatos (kingdoms of the Guanche era) Ycoden and Daute and from the domains of princess Isora. It covers the comarca of north-western Tenerife, comprising the municipalities of San Juan de la Rambla, La Guancha, Icod de los Vinos, Garachico, Los Silos, Buenavista del Norte, El Tanque, Santiago del Teide and Guía de Isora, and representing a geographical linking element between the north and south of the island.

The land and the climate
The production area of the denomination of origin Ycoden-Daute-Isora occupies the municipalities of San Juan de la Rambla, La Guancha, Icod de los Vinos, Garachico, El Tanque, Los Silos, Buenavista del Norte, Santiago del Teide and Guía de Isora. The growing area goes from sea level to 1,400 m in altitude, on the slopes of the Teide.

The vineyards of Ycoden Daute Isora sit on soils of ash and volcanic rocks in plots located from 50 to 1,400 metres in altitude.

It enjoys a climate that allows the development of quality viticulture; bathed by the Atlantic Ocean and caressed by the trade winds, with an average temperature of 19ºC.
