Langa de Duero and the riverside municipalities round off the offer with stone lodgings and charming hotels. If nature is what you seek, the Pinares district, around Vinuesa and Covaleda, lets you sleep among the woods and then approach the vineyard to the south.
Sorian cuisine is one of robust flavours. Torreznos, crisp and golden, are a provincial emblem, and Soria butter, with its Geographical Indication, sweetens breakfasts. In season, the saffron milk caps and boletus of the pine woods star in memorable stews and scrambles.
Lamb and shepherd's migas call for a red from the Sorian Ribera del Duero, generously aged and with mature tannins. For the cheeses and starters, a white from Rueda brings freshness. Everything is accompanied by good village bread baked in a wood-fired oven.

Soria also evokes Antonio Machado, who sang of these fields in his verses, and preserves an ancient winemaking tradition tied to the Duero. Calatañazor, Medinaceli and the underground cellars dug in many villages speak of a wine culture woven with stone and history.
The Sorian north is an outdoor paradise. Around the Laguna Negra, Vinuesa and the Cuerda del Pozo reservoir there are campsites and camping areas among pine woods, ideal for combining mountain and winery. The Urbión range invites routes and starry nights.
The Cañón del Río Lobos has nearby camping areas and spectacular spots for walkers. Travellers by motorhome find service areas along the Ribera del Duero, near El Burgo de Osma and San Esteban, a starting point for touring the vineyard.
