Oro de Castilla is the brand of Bodega Hermanos del Villar, a family house in Rueda (Valladolid) that makes wine in the D.O. Rueda and also in the D.O. Ribera del Duero. The story began in 1955, when Pablo del Villar Escudero arrived in Rueda and acquired some estates; in the late eighties the family moved from cereals to wine, planting their first Verdejo, followed in 1990 by their first Sauvignon Blanc vineyard. In Rueda they farm plots such as El Montico, La Morejona, Los Hornos and La Oliva, and since 2015 they have made Tempranillo reds from grapes grown in Aranda de Duero, Hoyales de Roa and Fuentenebro. Their wines include Oro de Castilla Verdejo, Finca Los Hornos, Quivira, Crisol, Gaudeamus and Oro de Castilla Crianza. For now it does not offer wine tourism visits, although wine can be bought at the winery.
