Tierra de Barros, around Almendralejo, is the production epicentre and one of Spain's bulk-wine capitals, but also of quality reds and whites and even cava. Varieties such as tempranillo, cayetana blanca or garnacha coexist with grapes recovered from Extremadura's heritage.
