A unique area for unique wines

The land and the climate
The offer for the visitor is broad and attractive. Each of the municipalities with the Getariako Txakolina Denomination of Origin has exceptional beauty and together they complete a mountainous and coastal setting that is hard to better.
Zones
It is cultivated on steep slopes, not always in terraces, where the vines are guided with wires or «float» over pillars of earth. The base of the soil is clay over which a layer of sandstone rests. The altitude ranges from almost sea level up to 100 metres.
Microclimates
Rainfall reaches an annual average of 1,600 mm and temperatures range between a minimum of 2ºC in winter and a maximum of 35ºC in summer
Two autochthonous varieties, the Hondarrabi Zuri, which accounts for 95% of the vineyard, and the Hondarrabi Beltza, the remaining 5%, are the vines that, grown on trellises and on wire trellising, produce the grapes with which the Txakoli of Getaria is made.
Careful harvests at the beginning of autumn, seeking the balance of sugars and acidity, together with a meticulous virgin winemaking, with the most modern pressing and fermentation technologies, produce the Txakoli of Getaria.
